Course Objectives for PILATES INSTRUCTOR TRAINING:
The PILATES INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE is an excellent learning opportunity for anyone who wants to train as a Pilates Instructor, and for anyone who just wants to know more about the Pilates exercise method.
- During the 2-day seminar, participants will obtain a working knowledge of the purpose, benefits, target population, history, terminology, anatomy and principles of the Pilates exercise method.
- Participants will be able to demonstrate 56 Plates movements with proper technique and body alignment.
- Participants will be measured by a practical demonstration and a 100 question written multiple choice exam with a passing grade of 85%
Maximum 10 participants per Training Session. For the most intense and personal learning experience, the Pilates Institute of Maryland will allow a maximum of 10 participants per
Instructor Training Session.
"The Pilates Instruction Manual" is a 69 page illustrated book which accompanies the training and is included in the price. The manual sold separately is $25.00. If the manual is purchased separately and the training is taken later, the cost of the manual is deducted from the price of the training.

- 3:00-3:15pm - BREAK
- 3:15-4:45pm - LECTURE: Principles of Pilates, Anatomy and Planes of Motion
- 4:45-5:30pm - DINNER (Please bring your dinner with you)
- 5:30-6:15pm - LECTURE: Terminology, and Tips for Matwork Exercises
- 6:15-7:00pm - THE EXERCISES: Body Awareness and Beginner Exercises
- 7:00-7:15pm - BREAK
- 7:15-8:00pm - Intermediate Exercises
DAY 2
- 1:00-1:15pm - REVIEW DAY 1
- 1:15-2:00pm - Advanced Exercises
- 2:00-3:00pm - PILATES MASTERCLASS W/MEDITATIVE TECHNIQUES
- 3:00-3:15pm - BREAK
- 3:15-4:30pm - PRACTICAL APPLICATION: Each participant will be able to demonstrate in a group setting selected Pilates movemets with proper alignment and technique. Critiques and discussion.
- 4:30-5:00pm - REVIEW FOR EXAM
- 5:00-7:00PM - WRITTEN EXAM: 100 multiple choice questions.
The "Pilates Instructor Manual" and a Study Guide and Workbook will be mailed to you after registration.
NO TRAINING SESSIONS ARE SCHEDULED AT THIS TIME.
